The landscape grows quiet before a storm. The wind stills, the light fades, and wildlife senses the change long before people do. In that silence, this wolf pauses—not in fear, but with quiet confidence. Its steady gaze reminds us that strength is often found not in fleeing the storm, but in meeting it with calm resolve.
This painting challenged me to simplify while still capturing the wolf’s character. I wanted the eyes to carry the emotion and the surrounding darkness to become part of the story. Sometimes what is left in shadow is just as important as what is brought into the light.
