Welcome to My Studio
Every painting begins with something that captures my attention—the watchful expression of a desert bird, the strength and grace of a horse, the changing light across the Arizona landscape, or a quiet moment in nature.
My hope is that these paintings invite you to pause, explore, and experience a little of the beauty, character, and spirit I see in the American Southwest.

I am Tonja Hicks, an Arizona artist inspired by the landscapes, wildlife, horses, and enduring character of the American Southwest.
My paintings combine realism with expressive brushwork, warm color, and a strong sense of story. Whether the subject is a wolf beneath a changing sky, a quail greeting the morning, or a horse standing quietly in open country, I want each painting to feel alive with presence and place.
